Cars News

A little over a month after its presentation, Alfa Romeo has opened orders for the Tonale, which debuts with a special version called the Special Edition, characterized by a full optional set-up.

Under the hood is the new 130 HP 1.5 Hybrid with 48 Volt electrical system, combined with the 7-speed double clutch gearbox, which is offered at a price of 39,000 euros. The equipment of this Tonale includes 20-inch alloy wheels that house the red Brembo brake calipers; then there are the adaptive matrix led headlights, the tinted rear windows, the aluminum gearshift paddles, the keyless entry system, the automatic tailgate with hands-free opening and the Android-based infotainment system, with a 10-inch touchscreen , 25 in.

The latter is inclusive of navigator, voice control, Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity and smartphone wi-fi charging. The rich equipment of the Tonale Special Edition continues with the sports steering wheel covered in leather, with adaptive cruise control, integral parking sensors and the rear view camera, in addition to the recognition of road signs. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the Alfa Romeo Tonale will be the first car in the world to integrate NFT (Non-Fungible-Token) technology. It is based on the concept of “blockchain card”, a secret and non-modifiable digital register on which the main information on each individual car is reported.

Based on the choices of the owner, the NFT will report the data on the life of the car, generating a certification that can be used as a guarantee of its good maintenance, supporting its residual value. As for the near future, however, the Special Edition will also arrive on the 160 HP Hybrid version, while the complete range will use the same logic seen recently on the Giulia and Stelvio. There will be four versions – Super, Sprint, Ti and Veloce – each with a well-defined characterization.
