A pitch-black Bugatti, more than a car a sculpture: it is the Voiture Noire1, a one-of-a-kind model made in two years for a mysterious buyer who – according to rumors – is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Voiture Noire1, made with a special jet black carbon fiber, will be delivered in the next few days, after a long development and test work: a tribute to one of the greatest automotive “mysteries” in history, that of the first “Voiture Noire” , one of the four Type 57 SC Atlantic produced, developed and driven by Jean, the son of Ettore Bugatti. That’s exactly what Jean Bugatti called it, “the black car”, a vehicle that disappeared without a trace shortly before the Second World War.
About twenty years ago Achim Anscheidt, Bugatti’s Design Director, decided to pay homage to a car at the time considered the fastest around, but the project remained in the drawer. Until two years ago: “We were very in awe of the idea of developing the Voiture Noire, no other vehicle in Bugatti’s history has acquired the same legendary status as the Type 57 SC Atlantic becoming a synonym for the brand – explained Anscheidt – It was a great responsibility, both historical and towards the customer “.

The Bugatti designers faced a truly complex challenge, who in order to reinterpret Jean Bugatti’s masterpiece had to go back in time to understand not only the car, but also the era in which it was built, the technology, the materials and the creators, then updating everything to the twenty-first century.
