Eicma 2022, the Trk 800 arrives. This time, for real

But we will have to wait for spring to be able to get our hands on the Benelli Trk800, a model already presented at Eicma 2021 and returned in its final version yesterday at Eicma 2022. The financial director Susanna Carloni had let him guess in an interview a few weeks ago with La Stampa and the models exhibited for the Milan show have confirmed this. The engine is the same that powers the Leoncino 800, with a six-speed gearbox to manage 76.2 horsepower at 8500 rpm and a torque of 67Nm at 6500 rpm. The weight is 226 kilos (slightly higher than that of the Trk 502), the tank is 22 liters and has an adjustable fairing.

The choice is always that of a road bike with an adventure setting, also aimed at off-road stretches: the front wheel is 19 inches, the front fork is 50 mm Marzocchi upside-down stems with 170 mm travel and the rear swingarm with 171 mm travel. millimeters. Compared to the younger sister, the display has also changed, which is now a 7-inch high-resolution color Tft. The arrival in Italy is scheduled for spring 2023, but there are still no indications on the price.

Also on the Benelli stand was the Trk702, halfway between the 502 and the 800. The 698 cm³ engine has the same power as its older sister (76.2 horsepower), but at slightly higher rpm ( 8750), with a higher torque (68.2 Nm) at a lower speed (6250 rpm). This makes it clear that it is made to give power even without squeezing the accelerator knob, to make driving more enjoyable even on out-of-town trips away from the motorway.

And without particular off-road ambitions, given the 17-inch front rim, while still maintaining a good shock absorber travel (140 millimeters in front, 168 millimeters behind). To differentiate itself from the “big sister”, the 702 has a slightly different front fairing and a 20-litre tank. The display is Tft and also allows connection with the mobile phone. Then, there is a very “smart” gimmick: among the options, a video camera integrated in the front “beak” is available for taking photos and videos. The 702 will also arrive in spring 2023 and prices have not yet been revealed.
