The number of operators active in the field of energy supply is increasing, aiming to conquer the automotive sector by “riding” the electric revolution. Wekiwi, already present in France, is the latest: the developers are working on an app entirely dedicated to electric mobility and car charging, a project that comes after the partnership with Free2Move eSolutions, the joint venture between Stellantis and Engie Eps, for the brand new charging service for electric and plug-in hybrid cars.
The purpose of the app will be to make it easier to recharge electric cars, both near the columns and at home. Born as a spin-off of the Tremagi Group, also owner of the electricity company Illumia, Wekiwi will therefore add a new piece to its smart energy proposals (alongside the sale of electricity and gas in Italy and France) and aims to become a service provider innovative for different car manufacturers.
“The growth of these years confirms the initial intuition: to offer a flexible, clear and convenient way of purchasing energy – said Massimo Bello, founder of Wekiwi – We have become synonymous with innovation, for this reason we are highly appreciated abroad, as well as from the automotive world “.
The company aims to reach 100,000 customers within the year, and a good chunk is represented by the French market, where they have been present for two years. After Italy, within the year Wekiwi will also land in Spain.
