Ferrari BR20, a unique example for the anonymous collector

Cars News

There are collectors who are not satisfied with having the most exclusive supercars in the world, but want to have one that is only theirs: Ferrari’s customization programs are dedicated to these customers. The most exclusive is called “One Off”: it allows the Ferrarista to create a one-of-a-kind model – based on the mechanics of a “standard” Red – and even makes him participate in the stylistic definition of the car.

The latest unique Made in Maranello jewel is called BR20 and is a coupe with a V12 engine, based on the platform of the GTC4Lusso. It was created to answer a question: what would a 1960s Ferrari look like if it were designed today? Just like the BR20: elegant, slender, with suggestions directly derived from glorious models such as the 410 SA and the 500 Superfast.

Compared to the derivative car, which has four seats, the BR20 has only the two front seats and is about 7 centimeters longer. What makes the difference is above all the proportions of the passenger compartment, finely studied by the Ferrari Style Center, directed by Flavio Manzoni: the volume of the passenger compartment is designed to give “an effect similar to that of a pair of arches running along it in a longitudinal direction , from the A pillar to the rear spoiler.

The rear volume of the same has been hollowed out to create an aerodynamic channel whose outlet is hidden by the black rear band below the spoiler. This modern reinterpretation of the flying buttress theme dear to Ferrari ties the car hand in glove with the characteristic stylistic features of the Prancing Horse, typical of both the GT tradition and that of the brand’s sports cars, such as the 599 GTB Fiorano “.

Much attention is also paid to the tail, where a muscular bumper with a sporty look stands out. The twin headlights and circular exhausts – incorporated into the rear extractor with active flaps – are typically Ferrari. The carbon finishes and the splendid 20 ” diamond-coated rims give the whole charisma. At the front are tailor-made light clusters, with subtle daytime running lights, combined with a large grille decorated with strips that emphasize the three-dimensionality of the grille.

Last but not least the mechanics: the 6,262 cc naturally aspirated V12 delivers a maximum power of 689 hp and an engine torque of 697 Nm. The transmission has four-wheel drive and electronically controlled sequential semiautomatic gearbox, seven-speed. Exciting performance: 0-100 km / h covered in 3.4 seconds and top speed is 335 km / h.
