“Loads of ingenuity”: it is with a play on words that Renault presented the renewed range of commercial and multi-space vehicles in which flexibility dominates.
The objective of the Losanga company is in fact to adapt to the different “worlds” in which its commercial vehicles travel: New Kangoo, New Trafic Passenger and New Trafic Spaceclass for leisure and passenger transport, Kangoo Van and Express Van for deliveries and business.
Modular and dynamic, here is the new Kangoo and the “brothers” Trafic
In terms of multi-space vehicles, the New Kangoo has five seats (real, the brand emphasizes) and richer equipment in terms of both comfort and technology. More than 49 liters of accessible storage compartments, including the Easy Life sliding drawer, 775 liters for the trunk (which reaches 3,500 with the floor down), new convertible roof bars to also exploit the vertical space. The design has also been renewed, to accentuate the leisure vocation.
The new Trafic Passenger, on the other hand, is designed above all for realities that deal with passenger transport. The strong point is modularity, which allows the minibus to be adapted to the needs of the seats, while the larger and higher passenger compartment also ensures driving comfort.
The new, more compact Trafic SpaceClass, on the other hand, is designed to meet the needs of those looking for a more exclusive vehicle, with even more refined details and upholstery and more space: both will be marketed in Italy from June.
The range for freight transport
On the freight front, however, the two flagship vehicles are the Kangoo Van and the Express Van. Among the novelties of the first – preferred by craftsmen, traders and fleet operators – there are the Open Sesame by Renault, the sliding door which, by eliminating the central pillar, offers on the right side one of the widest lateral accesses on the market with 1,446 mm and the Easy Inside Rack, which allows you to transport objects up to 2.5 meters long in the upper part of the passenger compartment thanks to an internal retractable luggage rack.
The new Kangoo Van is also equipped with the Wide View Mirror which allows for greater visibility in the blind spot on the right. There are 12 driving assistance devices, including active emergency braking and Rear View Assist.
The new Express Van, on the other hand, is the van designed above all for companies looking for the best price / performance ratio and a good volume for transport: among the technical features, 48 liters of storage compartments, wide side sliding door (716 mm) which facilitates loading and unloading, loading platform 1.91 m long and loading volume up to 3.7 cubic meters.
Electric models arrive from 2022
The range will be expanded in 2022 with two zero-emission versions (Kangoo Van E-Tech and Master ZE 100%), designed for last-mile deliveries and for moving around areas usually off-limits to traffic. The Kangoo E-Tech will be available in two versions (standard and long) and equipped with a 44 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a range of approximately 265 km in Wltp cycle.
