70 years have passed since the first victory of the Jaguar C-Type at the 24 Hours of Le Mans: an anniversary that the British manufacturer’s Classic department has decided to celebrate by building a limited series of new hand-made C-Type Continuations.
“The C-Type is one of the most iconic cars in Jaguar’s illustrious sports tradition, driven by some of the most admired drivers in history,” says Dan Pink, Jaguar Classic Director: “The C-Type Continuation keeps the iconic and advanced design developed by Malcolm Sayers thanks to the use for the first time of 3D Cad drawings by Jaguar Classic, which combine style and heritage in sports competitions with state-of-the-art engineering tools ».
Unveiled in 1951, the year in which it won Le Mans in its debut, the C-Type is a racing car that introduced aerodynamic principles inspired by aerospace techniques to the world of four wheels and, subsequently, disc brakes, still today. standard for modern cars.
Built according to the technical specifications of the official team that led it to win Le Mans in 1953, each car will be equipped with a 3.4-liter, straight-six engine with triple carburettors, capable of delivering 220 hp of maximum power. The construction will exploit a combination of modern technology and traditional materials.

The C-Type Continuation is also the first Jaguar Classic car to be fully reproduced using 3D Cad technology to support virtual creation. The new configurator (available at the link: www.classicvisualiser.jaguar.com) uses the design data of the 3D Cad to allow potential customers to specifically conform their C-Type in a virtual way.
