Kia EV6: native electric introduces a new design

Cars News

“EV6, Kia’s first electric model with a specific platform, is the manifesto of an innovative design that places man and the power of electrification at the center”: this is how Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design Center of Kia talks about the latest car from the Korean manufacturer: “We firmly believe that EV6 is an attractive and important product for the electric vehicle sector. With EV6 we have aimed to create a distinctive and strong impact design by combining sophisticated high-tech features on pure and generous volumes, with the result of a unique interior space, worthy of a highly futuristic electric vehicle “.

The EV6 is the first battery-powered model developed on the E-GMP platform, specially created for the electric-only vehicles of the Hyundai group (to which the Kia brand belongs). The technical details of the crossover will be disclosed in the coming weeks. However, given the technical relationship with the Ioniq 5, it is reasonable to expect the 800 V technology for very fast recharges (it allows you to recover up to 100 km of autonomy in less than 5 minutes), two and four-wheel drive transmission and powers from 170 to 300 hp. There are two sizes of accumulators: 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh, for an approved range of up to 500 km.

Officially, however, the manufacturer limited himself to explaining that the style of the vehicle follows the “Opposites United” philosophy, which “takes inspiration from the contrasts and positive energies present in nature and in the environments that surround us”. Inside, cleanliness and minimalism dominate: the curved screen of the multimedia system stands out on the dashboard, seamlessly with the digital instrument panel. While the thin seats are upholstered with fabrics created using recycled plastics.
