Smaller dimensions and greater ease of use to never take your hands off the wheel: the new generation of Echo Auto has officially debuted on the market, the device that Amazon has developed specifically to bring its voice assistant, Alexa, even to non-connected cars . The device has already been available for order for a few days, and is on sale for 69.99 euros on the e-commerce giant’s website.

The new generation of Echo Auto arrives three years after the debut of the first, a period in which Amazon has invested in design and functionality. The voice assistant has a slimmer design and includes a new adhesive mount for greater flexibility of placement inside the car, has five integrated microphones and is able to identify the user’s voice even with music, air conditioning or traffic noise. Alexa features are therefore fully available even in the car to listen to music, make calls, call with Drop In on compatible Echo devices, listen to podcasts, keep up to date with the news, add an appointment to the calendar or an item to the to-do list , as well as asking about traffic information, all without ever having to take your eyes off the road.

Echo Auto also allows you to manage devices for Amazon’s “Smart Home” while you’re on the go: all users can ask Alexa, for example, to set the thermostat, turn off the lights, control the front door. From the Alexa App it is also possible to activate the “Auto” mode, which transforms the phone into an intelligent screen designed and optimized for use while driving.

Echo Auto, like all Echo devices, is designed with different elements for privacy protection and control: it includes, in fact, a special button to activate and deactivate the microphones and the ability to view and delete voice recordings. Last but not least, attention to sustainability: the device has the Climate Pledge Friendly badge and is Carbon Trust certified, because 99% of the packaging is made with materials based on wood fibers from sustainably managed forests or recyclable sources.
