“Three is a magic number”, sang Bob Dorough in the seventies. A magic number also for the Morgan Super 3, which almost seems like a cross between three different vehicles: spider, canoe and small car; which rests on three wheels; and which has a three-cylinder engine. This is a real toy for adults, which collects the legacy of the historic 3 Wheeler, initially conceived 113 years ago and powered by a V2 engine.
Like its progenitor, it drives with a helmet and goggles and has an exquisite retro flavor, accentuated by the design of the wheels, large circular headlights and exposed suspension system. Connected to the single rear-wheel drive is a 1.5-liter engine, of Ford origin – it delivers a power of around 115 HP -, connected to a five-speed manual gearbox derived from Mazda.

The low weight, contained at only 635 kg, allows the Morgan Super 3 to reach a maximum speed of 209 km / h and to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in about 7 seconds. And if the setting is reminiscent of the original 3 Wheeler, the chassis is completely new and uses a monocoque made of aluminum, with external panels that have a structural function.

The passenger compartment, of course, marries the cause of motorcycle minimalism but also adopts modern digital instrumentation and USB sockets – sealed to resist dust and water – useful for recharging the driver and passenger devices. Luggage? They can be stored in the black side bags or in the rear rack. Prices from around 42 thousand euros.
