After the preview a year ago during the presentation of the new factory project and the official presentation at Eicma 2021, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello is ready to debut on the market. Pre-orders were opened last weekend during WYD – Moto Guzzi World Days, with which the 100th anniversary of the brand was celebrated in Mandello del Lario. From today, pre-orders continue on the official Moto Guzzi website and you can choose between the two available versions, which differ in graphics and content, namely the “base” and the “S”. The first is available in polar white and magma red colors and starts at 15,499 euros fc; the second is proposed in the 2121 green color variant and in the avant-garde gray sporty and is on sale at 17,999 Euros fc

The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello wants to open a new chapter in the history of the Eagle, above all thanks to the unprecedented technical base built around the new twin-cylinder. It is called a “compact block” and the architecture is the historical one with a 90 ° transverse V but the project is completely new, so much so that it is more than 10 cm shorter than that of the V85 TT. The cylinder heads have been rotated 90 degrees to improve ergonomics and rationalize the position of the components of the intake manifolds and electronic injection. The displacement is 1042 cc, the distribution is double overhead camshaft with four valves per cylinder. The lubrication is wet sump and liquid cooling, while the clutch in oil bath has a hydraulic control. There are 115 hp and 105 Nm, 90% of which is already available at 3,500 rpm. The limiter intervenes at 9,500 rpm.

The transmission uses the classic cardan but is inserted in an aluminum single-sided arm which is located on the left and much lower than usual, so much so that there is no longer the reaction rod on the swingarm. The frame is made of steel tubes and the wheelbase measures 1486 mm. In terms of technology, the V100 Mandello will be the first Moto Guzzi with the six-axle inertial platform, cornering ABS, semi-active suspension and quick shift gearbox. Finally, active aerodynamics is an absolute novelty in the two-wheel sector. The system (standard on the S) automatically adjusts the position of the deflectors on the sides of the 17.5-liter tank depending on the speed and the Riding Mode selected, reducing the air pressure by up to 22%.
