Peugeot 308 SW: here is the new generation of the French wagon

After unveiling the version with compact body, Peugeot removes the veils from the new 308 SW: 4.64 meters long and with a wheelbase of 2.73 meters, it offers generous space for passengers and luggage, as evidenced by the rear sofa that can be divided into three sections (40/20/40) and has tipping controls that can be operated directly from the load compartment, accessible from the motorized tailgate. The load volume ranges from 608 liters, with the seats in place, and reaches 1,634 liters with the rear seat completely folded down.

Inside, the setting is the same as that of the 308 hatchback, characterized by the new compact steering wheel with integrated controls, the digital and three-dimensional instrument panel with a 10 ”diagonal. The same size also for the high-definition touchscreen located in the center of the dashboard and dedicated to the connected infotainment system. Speaking of connectivity, that of the 308 benefits from four Usb C sockets, the wireless mirroring function and the ability to connect two phones simultaneously via Bluetooth.


There is a rich set of driving aids, among which the Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function (with the EAT8 automatic transmission) and the Lane Keeping Assist, help to keep the car on track, stand out. Three new functions complete the whole: semi-automatic lane change, recommended speed adaptation and speed adaptation according to the radius of curvature of the road you are traveling on.


Among the engines, shared with the 308 with compact body, there are the plug-in hybrids (Hybrid 225 CV e-EAT8, Hybrid 180 CV e-EAT8), the traditional petrol-powered versions (PureTech 110 CV and PureTech 130 CV, both with 6-speed manual gearbox and PureTech 130 with 8-speed EAT8 automatic gearbox) and turbodiesel ones (BlueHDi 130 bhp with 6-speed manual gearbox and BlueHDi 130 bhp with EAT8 automatic gearbox).
