Porsche 968 l’Art, the ready-to-wear speedster

Cars News

A unique model based on 968: it is the result of the synergy between Porsche and the Art de L’automobile, which collaborated to create a one-off for Paris Fashion Week. A project born to pay homage to the three decades of history of the model (built from 1991 to 1995, in just under 13 thousand units), never really rewarded by sales, despite the mechanical sophistication of its transaxle transmission.

The bodywork and cockpit have been completely redesigned to give life to a two-seater speedster with a lowered windshield and pearl green paint. The LED light clusters – they replace the original ones – and other elements of the car body, which now features a different cut of the doors, with customized door sills, are new. Via the side mirrors, replaced by fixed elements in the same color.

The solution of the faired rear wheels is interesting, while the widened mudguards give more muscle to the whole. The KAR logo, also present on the steering wheel, refers to Artur Kar, founder of Art de L’Automobile and Porsche collector. Finally, note the two Tag Heuer analog squares integrated into the dashboard and the bespoke Bose audio system.
