Discovering the beauties of Italy through unconventional itineraries with extra-luxury cars, in some cases vintage. This is the idea behind The Drivers Club, a project signed by professionals in the tourism, automotive and travel narrative sectors that offers 5-star hotel members and customers a more exclusive and different travel experience.
The club’s founders have developed a collection of Grand Tours, regional trips and daily itineraries linked to the historical and cultural heritage of the territories visited. The peculiarity of the routes and stops is to avoid the most traveled roads, and to go in search of “hidden gems” to be reached on board cars such as the Ferrari 246 GT Dino, the Porsche 911 S Targa 2.4, and again the Jaguar E-Type Roadster V12. The catalog also includes young timers, droptops, super sports, Grand Touring and flagships.
An idea that combines the desire for intimacy with health recommendations in times of the coronavirus pandemic, given that each tour is available in self-drive or chauffeured mode and accompanies a small number of people. All itineraries can be customized according to passions and needs, whether it is a visit to an art gallery or an artisan’s atelier.
The Club also takes care of selecting the “culinary” stages, which reflect the theme of the tour, and also organizes experiences at the Mugello Circuit and at the Vallelunga Piero Taruffi Circuit, as well as concierge services for Motorsport events and historical re-enactments.
“After many months of preparation and years of field work throughout the Italian territory – explains Matteo Morichini, manager of The Drivers Club – I am really happy to present this project that finds inspiration in the infinite beauties of our country as well as in the desire to reveal and support the equally extraordinary minor historical and artistic heritage ».
Tuscany and Sardinia by car, the two “open” itineraries
On the occasion of its debut, The Drivers Club has created two special travel experiences in Tuscany and Sardinia that are also open to non-members.
The first, renamed “Etruscan echoes & Tuscan Icons”, is a week-long journey aboard a vintage or contemporary cabriolet model, celebrating the extraordinary cultural and landscape biodiversity of the Medici region, starting with the noble palaces on the sea and the Unesco heritage sites built next to the Lazio coast.
The itinerary of about eight hundred kilometers winds from the Maremma to the Chianti, connecting arts, crafts and treasures of the minor heritage, with the pleasure of staying in four selected residences.
The tour in Sardinia, on the other hand, starts from the Chia area and reaches the eco-holistic paradise of a private island in Gallura, a ten-day experience aboard a rear-wheel drive convertible to discover the eastern coast of Sardinia.
The Open Journeys in Tuscany and Sardinia are on sale from July 1st on the thedriversclub.it website and on the Instagram page @thedriversclubigt: for prices and details, mailto: info@thedriversclub.it.
