The gates of the Marazzato Collection showroom, the largest European collection of completely restored 20th century trucks, open to the public on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the famous Fiat 682, the first truck and semi-trailer tractor produced by Fiat Veicoli Industriali from 1952 to 1988 .
The Stroppiana showroom, in the province of Vercelli, where most of the more than 280 vintage vehicles collected and restored by the Marazzato family are kept, will be open to visitors for the whole day on Saturday 26 November for an “open door” event that brings together and celebrates two important anniversaries: the 70th anniversary of the Fiat 682, one of the most famous trucks in history, and those of the company, both “born” in 1952.
On the other hand, the 682 represents for the world of commercial transport what the Fiat 600 and 500 were for the private one. With this truck, produced to comply with the new regulations and in terms of the scope of the Highway Code and which remained in production for over 35 years, Italy embarked on the road that led it towards the economic boom of the 1960s. He will therefore be the star of the event on 26 November, which will see some of the specimens belonging to the Marazzato Collection on display, which includes some rarities such as the “122” model, plus others brought to the site by collector friends.
The event will start at 10 and will offer visitors the opportunity to participate in guided tours of the collection and to experience driving “as it once was” thanks to simulated reality. A workstation with VR viewers will in fact allow you to immerse yourself in a 1950s rural setting and virtually get behind the wheel of a 70-year-old truck.
