Toyota Land Cruiser, here is the new generation

Cars News

The Land Cruiser is an icon of Toyota but also of the off-road world. Its pedigree confirms this: born in 1951, it has been sold in over 10 million units all over the world. The new generation of the model, the tenth, uses a renewed platform, called “GA-F”, which is characterized by the structure with side members, ideal for off-road driving. However, Toyota technicians have also paid particular attention to weight reduction: in fact, the new Land Cruiser, despite the increased torsional stiffness, is 200 kg lighter than the outgoing version, to the benefit of driveability and efficiency. .

The suspension system has been completely revised, which uses E-KDSS (Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) technology which, according to Toyota, allows superior performance on particularly rough terrain, as well as greater road holding. And in off-road the cameras certainly come in handy, which film the surrounding environment and project it on the on-board monitor to help drive the most difficult maneuvers.

Almost five meters long and equipped with LED light units, the car is available with two engines: a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo petrol engine, capable of 409 HP of maximum power and 650 Nm of torque; and a 3.3-liter V6 turbodiesel, delivering 304 hp and 700 Nm. Both are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and, of course, the four-wheel drive transmission.

Inside there is the generous infotainment screen, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while behind the front seats there are two displays dedicated to rear passengers. The technical kit is completed by the Toyota Safety Sense package, which contains all the most modern technological advances in terms of driving assistance, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection. The Japanese manufacturer has not yet communicated the list prices, nor has it specified in which markets the new Land Cruiser will be made available.
