At Eicma 2022 Yamaha updated the entire Tracer range, introducing the new Tracer 9 GT+ version which represents its flagship. Its main novelty is fully integrated state-of-the-art electronics developed with Bosch including millimeter wave radar, adaptive cruise control, radar-linked unified braking system, electronic suspension and intelligent driving modes. plus a connected TFT instrument cluster and fully integrated Garmin navigation. The Tracer 9 GT+ is the first Yamaha to adopt radar to support various features. The most interesting is undoubtedly the adaptive cruise control which, once the cruising speed has been set, automatically adjusts the pace to adapt each time to road conditions.

The system is adjustable and the rider can select one of four levels of following distance from the vehicle in front. When activated, a series of icons to assist the rider appear on the 7-inch TFT display. Then there’s the cornering assist function which prevents you from picking up speed when cornering, but there is also the overtaking assist which makes the bike accelerate more smoothly when the turn signal is on. Furthermore, during the action of the adaptive cruise control, the damping of the electronic suspensions is also adjusted, to avoid excessive pitching when slowing down. In this regard, the unified braking system also intervenes in the event of an emergency, braking the bike if it detects an imminent collision, regulating the pressure on both axles to maintain a balanced set-up.

In addition, the integrated Garmin navigation can also operate in full screen, informing you of real-time traffic and alternative routes. Speaking of driving, however, there is the bidirectional third-generation quick shift and the KYB electronically controlled suspension with two settings: comfort and sport. Finally, the four driving modes modify the response of all the electronic systems and of the engine, the 890 cc and 119 HP three-cylinder. The arrival of the new Tracer is expected in January 2023 at a price of 16,499 euros.
